To get back into shape, I've been training at Capital Combat for the past six months. Simply by participating in the conditioning classes run by Damien during this period, I've become a lot fitter, stronger and more agile. More so than when I was practising judo or long distance running.  I really enjoy the variety and knowledge gained from the training that Damien provides.  I certainly would recommend Capital Combat to anyone who wants to get fit and/or learn kick boxing, BJJ or MMA. The crowd is friendly and Damien is without a doubt very knowledgeable and experienced.

I've been training with Capital Combat now for about 6 years. In that time I've learnt so many new skills and have a better understanding of the requirements for my diet to support all the areas of fitness that support the programs on offer at Capital Combat. I've made some great friends through training but the one thing that sticks out most for me is that it's always a friendly place for everyone of any age group to come to train and learn.

Not only will Damien get you in the best fitness you've been in for a long time, he will explain in detail the exercises and techniques to help you understand what you are doing, and why you train the exercises you do. Best of all he draws upon his experience to provide you with examples to piece the puzzle together.  

I've done things I never thought I would, I have competed in many sporting events due to the confidence I have gained through training at Capital Combat and the support everyone has given, and the friendly atmosphere when training keeps training fun leaving you wanting to come back for more.

I've been doing Kickboxing at Capital Combat with my 12 year old son for over a year. Since joining we've both become fitter and stronger while having a shared activity that we can relate to. While learning practical self defence skills, my son is gaining valuable "life" skills such as commitment, discipline, and respect for others. As with any fitness activity, you get out of it what you put into it.  Keeping motivated is key to keeping up with any program. At Capital Combat, under head instructor Damien Philpott, sessions are kept fresh, fun and dynamic, while training with a great bunch of people. This keeps me motivated and attending sessions week after week. If you're looking to get fit and learn a self defence system then I can't praise Capital Combat enough and the instruction of Damien.

I've been training with Damien at Capital Combat for approximately two years in all three classes, after following my stepson who had already been training with Damien for a couple of years. Damien has helped me get my motivation back to become a fitter and healthier person and I have learnt a massive amount of information and techniques in regards to all three training classes and it has even pushed me to get in the ring as a fighter and become a personal trainer myself.

It is a friendly atmosphere and we have a lot of fun. I just love turning up not only to train but for the people we train with as I have made a lot of friends with the same goals as myself!! Thanks Damien, YOU LEGEND!!!

I've trained for many sports at different levels and Capital Combat is the best environment for all levels. They cater from beginners to experienced athletes in a range of areas and the atmosphere created by everyone there gets results in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.

I’ve been coming to kickboxing classes at Capital Combat for about 6 months now and have noticed a big improvement in my fitness in that time. I was nervous to try kickboxing classes because I don’t have any experience with this kind of training, but Damien and everyone in class have been so friendly and helpful that it’s made it easy to stay motivated and keep coming back. Classes are a lot of fun while also being a lot of hard work and the people who have been coming to class longer also help with tips on technique. Damien’s instructions are always clear and he’s always happy to talk you through anything you don’t understand. I didn’t think I would have so much fun while working so hard, but I’ve really enjoyed my time at Capital Combat and look forward to training every week. I highly recommend Capital Combat!

I WAS an asthma sufferer; Capital Combat CURED my asthma!  Cured may be the wrong word to use, but as my fitness improved, my reliance on a ventilator decreased.  Can’t even remember the last time I used my ventilator now.  Now I can run several kilometres and I often go for 100+ kilometre rides. Asthma no longer stops me from doing the things I enjoy and I owe that all to Capital Combat.  As a bonus, I’ve made some great friends along the way.
